I must admit when I came upon a sale of Yellow Obsidian - I had never heard of it. I was looking to buy several pounds of yellow claclite for the current Chakra Course I am teaching. But my trusted gem wholesaler suggested these gems instead. She assured me I would love the stones.
Was she right?
While I’m speaking honestly with you I will admit to having a slight addiction to Obsidian already, mostly snowflake. I have spheres, points, tumbled stones and jewelry, need I say more? So the thought of adding to my collection was intriguing, but yellow obsidian? WTH? If you are obsessed with stones too, then you probably know that black is the most common color of obsidian. However, it can also be brown, tan, or green. Rarely, obsidian can be blue, red, orange, or yellow. The colors are thought to be caused mainly by trace elements or inclusions. Meaning this yellow obsidian is a very rare stone.
When the stones arrived I was immediately transfixed! If you follow me on SC (Sarahpthomas) then you saw (and asked me questions) about the many snaps I posted of these cool stones.
But What Do They Do?
These cubes of yellow goodness are said to be great for protecting children, especially from bully’s and a great aide in getting to the “root” of whats really bothering you.
People also say they are great for anyone lacking self-esteem and are often used to boost self awareness. They are also used by healers to help calm and center oneself prior to energy working. This is done by holding a tumbled piece in your hand as you focus on your breathing and clear your mind. Almost instantly you will feel calmer and more self assured.
They also help one connect to their 3rd chakra energies in a gentle way. Making them perfect for third chakra work.
If you want to add a piece to your collection jump over here to the stone page and grab yours before they are all sold out.
