I have been a Reiki Master Sensei for 10 + years now. I have been asked many good, thought provoking questions. What follows are a few questions I was asked this week:
Q. Do you feel what the patient feels? A. I usually always feel the Reiki energy during a treatment. But I do not always feel what the client feels. For me the energy during a treatment feels very “magnetic” it pulses and tingles. At times it is cold and other times the energy feels very warm. It varies from person to person and what the energy is working on. Q. Could you feel energy before taking Reiki classes? A. Yes, but it really helped me to “fine tune” the ability. I have had many students that could not feel energy at all, but after the Reiki attunement could feel energy (as well as Reiki) so don’t let it stop you from taking Reiki classes. Q. Can I get too much Reiki? A. No, your body knows what it needs and will stop taking the energy when it has had enough. Q. I am a Reiki 2 and sometimes I will be in the store or eating out and the Reiki will come on by itself, why? A. Good question! Either you have thought about someone or something’s and it has caused the energy to activate or someone/something near you is in need of Reiki. It is very common for this to happen. My clients tell me they can feel me from the parking lot when I am grocery shopping and the Reiki will lead them straight to me. Have a Reiki question? From better memory to clearer skin you NEED water. Soft drinks, coffee, alcohol and tea do not count. Treat your body to pure, fresh water and up the amounts you THINK you are drinking. Drinking more pure water can dramatically improve your life. 2. Meditate. Even just 10 minutes a day will can be a huge benefit. There are many different types of meditation, find one that works for you and stick to it. 3. Eat more REAL food and fewer chemicals. Not everyone can be a raw vegan, but we can ALL eat better, REAL food. If you cant pronounce the ingredients listed on the package, then you probably should not be eating them. 4. “Move It” Yoga, Tai Chi, jogging, whatever appeals to you. Try to get at least 10,000 steps in every day. Movement will boost your energy, calm your mind and reduce your stress levels. 5. Sleep more. Make getting enough sleep a priority. Your memory will improve and so will the quality of your life. 6. S-L-O-W Down. Being “Busy” all the time doesn’t mean you’re productive. If you have to be busy all the time there are other problems in your life that need to be addressed. Schedule downtime at least once a week. 7. Watch how you talk to yourself. Is your internal voice cheering you on or are you berating yourself night and day? Listen to that internal voice and then ask yourself this question: “Would I speak to someone else like that?” If the answer is no, then its time to work on taming your mind. 8. Stop putting off your life. There is only now. None of us are insured a tomorrow or a future. Are you are talking, dreaming and waiting for some “magical time” when things are going to change? The time to make those changes is right now. 9. Do something for someone else. Volunteer, donate, and stop thinking so much about yourself. One of the best ways to heal is to help someone else. No matter who we are or what circumstances we are in we can always do something. 10. Be grateful No matter what circumstances we may find ourselves in, we can always be thankful for something. Count your blessings every day and be grateful. 11. Reiki Remember the only side effect to Reiki is Happiness! Self-Reiki or share the Reiki energy with someone else. Reiki Blessings! Sarah |
