Hello Lovely Light Workers,
Often I am asked if we sell Sage at the Reiki Clinic. Yes, we do (see picture above). Most people have seen smudging on TV and are ready to chase out evil spirits. Um, sure. Most of the time I keep my mouth shut unless I know there is a real problem and let them have at it. After all, part of our journey is learning by doing... So do YOU know how to smudge properly? Or why we burn Sage and not say Lavender? Smudging is actually a SACRED ACTION that should be approached as such. We are evoking the element of Fire and calling upon the energy or 'medicine' of the sacred plant to mix with our intention to clear out negative energy. (So there really is more to it than waving a stick of flaming Sage around a chair and calling it a day. - actually have seen that.) I try to purchase Sage that is grown with the intention of smudging and harvested correctly. I'm not in one country long enough to really grow my own, or I would. I teach all my Reiki students how to Sage or Smudge themselves, friends and homes in class and also teach classes on working with plants, incense, etc. It's not difficult, but if you do not approach it correctly it will not be effective. If you want to know more I have a upcoming class here and you can Skype in if you are not in Texas. Smudging can be a wonderful tool to clear space if it is used properly. But like all tools it needs to be approached correctly and used precisely for the best results. Reiki Blessings, Sarah Comments are closed.
