I was reading an article today on Angel healing. It may or may not be your thing, (no judgement). I read a lot of different healing/spiritual information. Anyway, there was an interesting antidote in the story. I will paraphrase here: “Your Angels will send you signs and warnings about what foods and behaviors you need to eliminate in order to flourish. They are not doing this to be mean or to bully you, they only want you to have the best life possible.” (Cool, right?) This reminded me of a conversation I had with a tween visiting my home a few years ago. I was correcting my then wild toddler, “Yikes! Get off the coffee table before you fall!” as I moved to scoop him off the table and redirect him to play in safer area, she was watching. After seeing this exchange the tween told me, “Oh! You are doing that to keep him safe, not because you are being mean.” Suddenly a light bulb went off over her head. Mean? What? I was shocked. I explained to her, of course, I did this to keep him safe! I love my son and do not want him to fall or hurt himself. I want to keep him safe (and off the furniture). I explained again to her that I did this so he did not hurt himself and because I love him. When we say, “Put Down the Corn Dog” And it's the same way in the healing/spiritual community. We love our students, clients and friends. We want you to have the best life possible! We want to see you healed and well, functioning at your highest vibration. So when we politely suggest that you stop drinking sodas or liquor or quit the Mickey D’s diet we are not being mean or judgmental. We only want to keep you safe. When clients come in for a healing session and report feeling sluggish, depressed, diagnosed by their physician as suffering from malnutrition or having a chronic illness, they usually want help. But more often than not, they seem shocked when we discuss diet. I studied nutrition in the late 1990’s and am redoing my certification now for the USA and the UK. I studied because I want to be informed and to make the best selections I could. I also want to help you make the best choices you can. Nutrition and lifestyle are major keys to wellness. People often ask for help and advice and yet seem shocked when I point out that a crap diet is not helping the situation. Once again, like the Angels, your teachers are not being mean when they say stop eating “food like substances” and wake up to whats really going on. I urge everyone to become accountable for their actions and take personal responsibility for their healing. Take it seriously, starting today. Let this be your sign and remember eat better and feel better. And remember your teachers do this because they love you. Now go eat some fruit! Love and light, Sarah Oil Pulling
Oil pulling or swishing is known as “ama” in Ayurvedic medicine. It is believed to pull out toxins, reduce inflammations and generally heal the mouth, gums and head. Many people are now trying oil pulls to reduce plaque, whiten the teeth, freshen breath and improve the conditions of the gums. Very little scientific research has been conducted on this procedure. If you search on line you will find very little data. I would recommend you do your own research, as we are doing at the Reiki clinic. It is important to remember that Ayurveda does not recommend general treatments blindly for everyone, but rather, an individual approach based on your Dosha. (Search Dosha and you will find a wealth of information.) Most people use either sesame oil or pure coconut oil. Pure sesame oil is one among many medicinal fluids recommended in Ayurvedic medicine for daily preventive use and to reduce inflammation. Approximately 1 tablespoon of oil is swished in the mouth for 20 minutes and then teeth are brushed normally. Go answer your emails or read Tumblr and the 20 minutes will fly by. Note it is important not to spit the oil in the sink as it may clog the drain. Our Results: No longer blood when brushing teeth, improved breath and less sinus/allergy complaints. Your results may differ, but judging by our findings it is a safe, inexpensive treatment to improved oral health and well worth a try. This is really not difficult or expensive. It should not replace regular dental check ups, but work with them to improve your overall health. It is suggested you try for 7 days and evaluate your progress. Do you do this procedure too? Which oil do you use and what benefits have you experienced? Let us hear your results. Sarah And your friends @ Serenity Reiki Clinic |
